Positions
Neutral Position- The way you begin every match. You can also start the 2nd and 3rd period if this is the chosen position. The neutral position is where you are standing facing your opponent in your wrestling stance.

Wrestling Stance- The way you stand when facing your opponent on your feet. The basic needs of a good wrestling stance is knees bent, back straight, head up, elbows tucked in, and hands in front of you. A wrestling stance is different through out each wrestler. You find out what works for YOU because it is your stance.
Coin Toss- Following the first period the referee will flip a coin with a green side and a red side. The color that lands up is the winner. The colors are decided by the ankle bands that you are required to put on before you started the match. When you win the coin toss you can choose one of three positions neutral, referees position, or you could differ. You differ you give your opponent the choice to choose the position for the 2nd period and you will get the choice of position for the 3rd.
Referees Position- The position in which you could possibly begin the 2nd or 3rd period. It is determined by the coin toss following the 1st period. If you win the toss and you choose referees position. You can choose either top or bottom.
Bottom Position- You get own down on your knees with your hands also on the mat but touching the centerlines with your head up and facing the referee. From this position you can either get an escape or a reversal.
Top Position- In this position you place one knee on the mat next to your opponent and your other leg posted out behind your opponent. You then grab your opponents elbow depending on the side you of which knee is on the mat. Then, your other free arm you wrap around your opponents back and placing your hand on your opponents stomach. Finally, you lie your head flat on his back. From this position you can either score by turning your opponent to his back for back points or pinning him.
